Our Story

The Canton Black Assistance Foundation was founded with a heart for service and a vision to strengthen our community through education, opportunity, and compassion.

We believe that when people come together to support one another, lives are transformed, families are strengthened, and neighborhoods flourish. What began as a commitment to meet community needs has grown into a mission focused on empowering children and families through literacy, outreach, partnerships, and service.

Today, our signature Breakfast & Books Literacy Program helps children develop strong reading and comprehension skills while encouraging critical thinking, confidence, and a lifelong love of learning. We also believe that strong communities are built by strong families, which is why we engage parents, volunteers, churches, businesses, and community partners in our work.
